My sister drives me crazy this time of year. Well, thruthfully, she drives me crazy all year but the holiday season is really bad. She is a planner and likes to have all her gifts planned out well in advance and likes to make sure you are getting her kids what they want. She starts towards the end of September giving me ideas of what to buy my neices for Christmas and the one who is a December birthday girl. She also makes sure that if I am not going to buy that Dora that the one wants to let her know because she will buy it, then before I even get a chance to buy the Dora she's picked it up for her. There's been years she's done this and then told me to just pay for it when I see her so really the gift is not coming from me or my family at all. All of the ideas she gives me for her kids are toys, she's never suggested that I get them clothes yet now she informed me that my kids were getting clothes for Christmas, they apparently have too many toys. I'm sure they'll love them since 7, 5 and 2.5 year old kids love to get clothes as gifts!
Now I realize that I sound bitchy and ungrateful towards my sister but this is the same person that complains that she has to buy one more gift for my family than I do for hers.
Ahhh, the holiday season. Quality time spent with family!

LOL! April, I know this post isn't meant to be funny, but I laugh because I can SO relate! I don't have the exact same problem with my sisters, but enough other similar kinds of problems. My elder sister threw a fit when her youngest son was added into the Christmas drawing at age 12. His older brother and cousin didn't have to go into the drawing until they turned 15!! (Prior to that, we all bought for them.)
Well, when MY kids were 3 and 4 she insisted they go into the drawing as we were getting too many kids to buy for. (That would have been all of 3 at the time.) Funny thing is, at the time, she and her DH had far, far more income than anyone else in the family! Ahhh, sisters are so much fun!
I suggest that, next year, when she starts telling you what to buy them, just tell her you already have something. If she asks what, just tell her it's a surprise for her as well as them!
